People always think collaboration is simple to implement in a company or organization. In reality, it is far from that.

It is probably because we are accustomed to competition and not collaboration since childhood. Or probably collaboration only means community service—in cleaning up sewers in our neighborhood on weekends,—and not problem solving or innovation methods in companies/organizations.

Collaboration is about building connections and gaining trust. This can happen through exchanging stories. Magic usually happens when people start to share personal stories.

While exchanging stories and experiences, we usually start to recognize and acknowledge each other's strength, expertise, values and opportunities that arise should they join forces.

When this happens, we will jump in and initiate collaboration between the people/team in the organization.
